What Is A Capacity Building Grant And How To Get It

Grant seekers are often confused about getting grants about capacity-building grants. As a nonprofit leader, you are always looking trying to find ways to improve your organization. Looking for capacity-building grants is as equally important to your organization as other fundraising projects your organization does. You should know the importance of HIV Gilead grants, they are the one thing your nonprofit organization needs to improve the sustainability of the organization. To know more, visit here.

Let’s look at how capacity-building grants can be an important tool for the growth and development of a nonprofit organization. First of all, you should be very clear about what is a capacity-building grant and then you should know how to write the application for such a grant.

What is a capacity building grant?

A nonprofit organization consists of two important pillars. One is the operation wing which works in the office and handles all the administrative procedures. The other is the community facing wing on which the grant funding is mostly dependent. Capacity building grants help in the future sustainability and development of a nonprofit organization. This funding is used to support the administrative block and operations inside the organization. This way a nonprofit organization ensures organizational effectiveness in its functioning.

How to write an application for capacity building grant?

This is the most important part when asking for capacity building grant. You must identify the areas of need for your organization, the actions you are going to take, and calculate outcomes and link everything with the vision and goal of your organization. Make the application short and simple highlighting these points along with a sustainable plan for the future.

The Gilead COMPASS Coordinating Centers provide HIV disease control and prevention resources to organizations across the Southern United States through community funding to promote the development of programs and activities that coincide with the Gilead COMPASS Initiative program emphasis areas. Faith Capacity Building Grants at Gilead COMPASS Initiative® focus on developing infrastructure, coalitions, and networks between religion communities and non-traditional partners. They realize the specific obstacles that nonprofit organizations have had in communicating with members at a distance and online, particularly during COVID-19, and are providing an HIV Stigma reduction programme to counter the same. For the past few years, southern states of the United States of America are fighting hard with the Gilead HIV epidemic. The epidemic has been affecting the population badly and has left everyone bewildered. However, in this hour of difficulty, government, organizations (non-profitable, profitable), and citizens had to find a solid solution to deal with this epidemic. How HIV Impacts The Overall Health And Well-Being Of Women

HIV and AIDS are not something new. We all have been hearing about it for so many years. However, even after so much time, we are still unaware of the causes and impacts of it. Still, people face discrimination because of being HIV positive. But this is extremely wrong. We should not treat people in a bad way if they are affected by HIV. If you are interested in helping people affected by HIV then you can take HIV training from trusted organizations to help the needy. To know more about this, visit here.

HIV has been known for impacting the overall health and well-being of women to a great extent. We have listed down some of its impacts done below.

• It has been seen that women of color have been at risk of HIV more than any other section of women. They are 20 times more prone to getting affected by HIV. Therefore, to help them, regular screening should be done so that they can be provided the right treatment at the right time. To know more, click here.

• Most women affected by HIV are quite young in age. Therefore, awareness should be spread right from a young age so that people can understand how HIV can be contracted. They should be made to understand what steps they can do to prevent it.

• HIV can also so affect the reproductive health of women. It can also cause many life-threatening diseases like cancer in women. Therefore, it is extremely important to increase awareness.

• Since some women do not get the right living conditions or the right resources for dealing with HIV, they also face violence at home. Such women suffer from both physical and mental trauma at the same time. This causes them a lot of pain. Therefore, it is extremely important to provide the right resources to them at the right time.

One initiative that is working for them is Gilead COMPASS Initiative®. This initiative has been made to provide Gilead HIV resource to people who need them the most. End of Stigma is the End of the HIV Epidemic

The HIV-epidemic in Southern United States has ruined the lives of countless families, mostly for women and children who are more vulnerable to getting infected and facing societal taboos.

The Southern HIV impact fund is working towards an overarching goal to find scalable and fundable programs that work for the eradication of HIV-related stigma in the South.

They plan to reach out to the ones who have suffered the brunt of unjust medical infrastructure, deprived of basic model of access to food and shelter and other basic amenities. They strive to give preferential help to the underprivileged and marginalized groups of the society.

They are encouraging people who are living with HIV to take leadership positions, in order to reduce HIV related disparities and ever widening gulf of haves and have nots in the South due to HIV. Click here to know more about the initiative.

They have partnered with Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research (CHPIR) to forge a battle against HIV-stigma and the reluctance to get tested and seek timely treatment. Even after so many years of being the epicenter of the epidemic, Southern US is still battling the stigma against HIV. If they want to end HIV, they need to end the stigma around it first. For more information on this visit the website.

The AIDS services coalition believes that in the power of community lies the end of the stigma. If we have influential leaders from these communities that have suffered the pains of HIV, then it could create major shifts in people’s thinking and treatment of HIV. This would generate a ripple effect to reduce the viral load and help eradicating the epidemic in the vulnerable and affected Black Gay community.

This program is funded by Gilead COMPASS Initiative®. The COMPASS is an acronym to COMmitment to Partnership in Addressing HIV/AIDS in Southern States. It is an unprecedented initiative with a commitment of over a decade to help raise awareness against HIV and end the stigma and the injustices around it in Southern US. Visit here to know more about them.

They provide concentrated investments and peremptory response to groups affected in the South US for reducing HIV-caused disparities, bettering access to healthcare and education and the abolishment of HIV stigma.

Discrimination Faced By People Living With HIV

Do you know somebody who has been detected with the HIV Virus? Do you feel unsafe meeting them or talking to them? You are unknowingly discriminating against the HIV Positive person. One should not behave in this way when somebody is detected with HIV Gilead. The stigma attached to HIV needs to end so that people with HIV are able to lead a normal life like all of us. To know more, click here.

You may be wondering how an HIV Positive person feels discriminated against. So, here is a list of ways in which people make an HIV Positive person feel discriminated against and different:-

Some people avoid meeting with HIV Positive people. They believe that it might be transmitted through the air or touch.

You may have seen how a certain person may have been avoided by their community just because they are HIV Positive.

Sometimes, it is seen that the few healthcare workers refuse to come in contact with an HIV Positive person even after knowing the right facts.

When an HIV Positive person goes out in the public, some people tease or call them out for being HIV Positive.

All this is totally wrong; both scientifically and morally. HIV does not spread by coming in contact with the HIV Positive person. It also does not spread through the air. HIV only spreads through certain body fluids like blood, breast milk, vaginal fluids, etc. Therefore, an HIV Positive person should not be isolated from the community. They deserve to lead a normal social life where they can easily meet with people. Many people lead a normal life even after years of being detected with the HIV Virus. In this course of time, whenever they fall ill, they should be treated like normal people. They should not face any discrimination from the healthcare workers. Visit here to know more.

One of the most prominent initiatives supporting this cause is The Gilead COMPASS Initiative®. This initiative was started to reduce the stigma that is attached to HIV and AIDS. They have been working with various local community organizations to help people affected by HIV/AIDS. They have also started the Southern AIDS coalition to end the HIV Epidemic in the Southern United States. Understand How HIV Stigma Is Affecting Society

When we think of society, there are so many things that it does not accept. And in the list of such things, HIV/AIDS-affected people are the ones that never get support neither from society nor from their families. When such things happen with them, it affects them mentally and physically. And why won’t it take a toll on these people? After all, no one can take the hatred and negative comments for too long. Click here to know more.

But the best thing is that there are a few organizations that have been working towards HIV. These non-profitable organizations do not have any kind of hidden motive behind doing all these things. They just want to help the ones who are in need so that the people dealing with HIV can live a better life.

While at some places people have started understanding the importance knowing the right HIV/AIDS information, at some places people are still blinded by stigma. You can scroll to know how stigma is taking a toll on people. For more information, visit https://www.gileadcompass.com/trainings/

• When a person is dealing with HIV/AIDS, not just he has to face serious physical complications but because of stigma, his mental health also degrades. It can also result in low self-esteem and self-harm.

• Because of raising HIV stigma, people don’t get tested for this disease. They are scared that if they test positive for HIV, they would have to spend the rest of their lives in shame. Visit here for more details.

• HIV stigma also gives rise to judgment in society. If a person has HIV, everyone starts judging that person.

Four Major Effects of HIV Stigma in the Society

HIV/AIDS, a disease that has not only affected the physical health of people but has generated increased negative attitudes and beliefs in society. This has given rise to HIV stigma that has made it difficult for disease-stricken people to survive in society. Now, this stigma has tremendous effects on the people and families affected by the disease. Let’s take a look at those effects to better understand the situation.

This further results in isolation and serious mental health disorders that can be fatal. Click here to know more about internalized stigma and its effects.
  • HIV stigma also generates the fear of judgment amongst the people where they fear that if their HIV status is revealed they might not be seen in the same light as before.
  • HIV stigma also deters people from getting tested for the disease. This happens due to the shame around the disease. This further deteriorates the health of the person and might become fatal.
  • HIV stigma also results in denial of proper healthcare, medications by medical professionals. Yes, several medical professionals and institutions are still prejudiced about treating HIV-positive individuals.

Reasons Why HIV/AIDS Awareness is important

Over the years, there have been few diseases that have posed death threats and HIV/AIDS is amongst one of them. No cure has been found for this disease which makes it even more dangerous. It has been found that HIV/AIDS more prominently infects females between ages 18 to 40 and males between ages 30 to 50. This is the age group that fosters any countries development through their productive contribution and causes great loss when they succumb to this deadly disease.. Here are the reasons why HIV/AIDS awareness is important.
